2023 광주미디어아트 페스티벌의 기획전시는 “빛도 꿈을 꾸는가?”라는 4개의 기획전을 통해 인간과 인간, 인간과 자연의 생명체들의 유기적인 관계를 사회, 문화, 생명 공학, AI, 산업, 종교 등의 다양한 시각으로 탐험하며, 국내 및 국제적인 미디어 아트의 흐름을 자연스럽게 접하는 계기를 마련하고자 했다.

the 2023 Gwangju Media Art Festival explores the organic "human-to-human" and "human-to-nature's creatures" relationships from the perspectives of society, culture, biotechnology, AI, industry, and religion, via four special exhibitions under the topic of "Breathing Light?". The Festival will provide an opportunity to experience the flow of global media arts naturally.

'실바니안 패밀리'는 일반적인 아버지, 어머니, 아들, 딸로 구성된 가족만이 존재한다. 치명타의 <실바니안 패밀리즘>은 그들에게 '아무 성이나 입어도 상관없는 옷'을 만들어 입히고 HIV 양성 여성의 삶과 탈시설을 쟁취하는 장애인의 삶, 국가폭력에 굴하지 않는 생존자의 삶을 부여한다. 그 속에서 소수자의 삶을 소환하여 다양한 배경과 속성을 드러낸다. 이들은 사회가 규정하는 울타리를 넘어 서로의 일상을 지키는 단단하고 다정한 연대의 모습을 표현한다.

'Sylvanian Families' only exist in families that consist of a normal father, mother, son, and daughter. Critical Hit's <Svivanian Familism> dresses them in cloths that are gender neutral, gives them the life of an HIV-positive woman, the life of a disabled person who fights for de-institutionalization, and the life of a survivor who does not surrender to state violence. In doing so, the artwork summons the lives of minorities and reveals various backgrounds and attributes. They express a strong and affectionate solidarity that protects each other's daily lives beyond the fences defined by society.
